Over the next couple of weeks the club will be implementing a new management platform for club membership, Spond Club, already widely used in the UK to help manage sports clubs and other organisations. Spond is completely GDPR compliant and its privacy settings mean that your personal data remains secure.
Initially you will receive an email from
memseccornwallac@gmail.com the new club membership secretary email which will be controlled by Jenny Stephens once Spond Club has been implemented. This email will contain a link to our Spond account and will ask you to complete a new online membership form, this can be done via phone/tablet or PC/laptop. If there are multiple family members that are part of CAC, naturally each adult will receive their own membership form if a seperate email address is logged with the club. Parents of children under the age of 18 please ensure you click on the "I want to register a child". As per club policy please do not enter any contact details for your child if under the age of 18.
Parents of young adults that are over 18 will still receive the email request until updated information is submitted. So please encourage your young adult to register, updating the membership form with their own email address, however parents who wish to support their adult child financially can list their own email as payment contact, there is a section at the end of the form to enter your email address, payment requests for annual membership will be sent to this parent email address. Parents/guardians with more than one child in the U13 to U20 age groups, please ensure you register the same email address as payment contact to take advantage of the 25% discount the club offers for these age categories.
About the form. Some fields will already be populated, please check this information and update as required, then submit. You will receive an automated message back saying:
"Thankyou for registering with Cornwall AC, we are processing your application". Plus a summary showing the information you have supplied.
Upon membership/renewal approval a further automated email will be sent, which also details the slight increase in fees for the 2025 season.
"A request to pay your 2025 club membership fee will be emailed in early January, please use the payment link rather than the clubs previous BACs payment system.
Annual Fees for 2025
Under 11’s: £22.00 (no reduction for additional siblings)
U13 to U20: £42.00 (25% reduction for additional siblings)
Seniors: £42.00
Second Claim Members: £22.00 (or 1st claim for secondary disciplines)
Membership fees are payable each year from 1st Jan and include your England Athletics annual affiliation fee. We will ensure your EA fee is paid on time for the season. Parent athletes with child athletes will be sent separate payment requests, 1 for themselves and the second for all their children in the U20 age category and younger.

Then in January 2025, not the first week ! A request to pay annual membership will be sent out from the club Spond account to all listed payment contacts. Please do not pay via BACs directly into the club account, please use the Spond payment link.
An added benefit of Spond is you can access it via the Spond App or continue receiving notifications through your listed email address.
Several coaches have been using Spond over the last 12 months to manage their coaching groups and have found it much more beneficial than previous social media methods. Some coaches may wish to keep their existing group contact methods but Spond does offer a lot more.
Going forward the club will use Spond for targeted membership engagement, we will continue to use the website and social media, but have found in particular, important information can quickly become hard to access a day or 2 after it's posted on FB which is increasingly frustrating.
As we are introducing a new email address, "memseccornwallac@gmail.com" please check your junk/spam mail boxes too.
