ELECTION OF OFFICERS 2022-2023

After the recent CAC Annual General Meeting on Tuesday 23 August 2022, it has been pointed out that the voting procedures did not comply with the process set down in the Club Constitution.  Five members of the Executive Committe met on Tuesday 20 September 2022 to discuss this matter and would like to apologise to the members for this oversight.

The AGM held on Tuesday 23 August 2022 voted in the 12 Club Officers required, with the position of Chairman requiring a ballot.  As the vote did not follow the process outlined in the Club Constitution, the decision was taken by the five Executive members present at the meeting on Tuesday 20 September 2022 to confirm the election of the 12 officers by posting on the noticeboard in the Clubhouse the names of these officers and asking for Proposers and Seconders on each position.  This sheet will be posted in the Clubhouse before Monday 26 September 2022 and then forwarded to the Secretary on Tuesday 4 October 2022 at least seven days before the next Executive Committee meeting on Tuesday 11 October 2022.

Please note that Chris Jeffery has removed his name from any interest the the Chairman's position.

Ron Hill will not be standing as the Track and Field Secretary, so we have a vacancy for this position.

The Executive Committe hopes this will remove the need for all members to be contacted to vote again, as this would be a huge administrative task when ourefforts would be better placed on looking after the needs of our members, the ATHLETES.

The five members of the Executive Committe who met on Tuesday 20 September 2022 felt that if this process meets with the approval of the members, it could be the first step in healing the rift which has existed between the Track and Field and Endurance sections of the club for far too long.
