EXCITING PLANS AHEAD FOR THE TRACK and FIELD FACILITIES AT CARN BREA

As many of you may have noticed, the track and certain field event areas will be due for resurfacing in the near future.  At this stage the proposed date for work to begin is Spring 2020.

Club representatives have recently met with the Chairman of the Carn Brea Leisure Centre Trustees, Colin Rowe and the Chief Executive Officer Alex Clifton to discuss future planning ideas.

Broadly speaking and at this stage no specific details have been put forward, the overall aim is to create an enhanced Track and Field facility, which will be at the heart of an exciting Community Project, intended to increase the use of the Track and Field by a wide range of Community Groups.

Why is Spring 2020 the chosen start date?  Clearly there will be major costs involved in this project. Hence sufficient time needs to be available to raise the funds required, not only for the Track and Field upgrade but also for new Changing Rooms, with Showers and Toilets, plus improved Storage Facilities for the equipment of the users.
